Police Officer

About This Role

Serve as a TSC Police Officer to patrol campus, enforce laws and regulations, and provide escort services to maintain a safe and vibrant campus community for Tallahassee State College.

Responsibilities

• Patrol campus buildings and grounds while enforcing laws, rules, and regulations on campus
• Provide escort services on campus
• Relieve or substitute for Campus Police Dispatchers
• Lock and unlock doors
• Perform security and safety duties at off-campus facilities owned, operated, or utilized by the College
• Deliver messages and locate students on campus during emergencies
• Establish public relations and provide general information
• Provide traffic assistance (direct traffic, attend to traffic accidents, assist with parking problems)
• Provide written reports on investigations, complaints, and security issues
• Report observed safety hazards
• Collect, prepare, and/or document evidence and testify in court

Requirements

• Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma
• State of Florida Certified Law Enforcement Officer
• One year of law enforcement experience
• Meet the requirements of Chapter 943, Florida Statute

• Graduation from a standard high school or equivalency diploma
• One year of law enforcement experience

Nice to Have

• Certified as a School Resource Officer (SRO) or willing to attend training
• Two years of active and continuous military or other appropriate public contact experience
