About This Role

Serve as a Police Officer for the U.S. Secret Service, protecting various government complexes and supporting Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign dignitary missions. This role requires relocation to Washington, D.C. and involves enforcing protective responsibilities under federal law.

Responsibilities

  • Provide protection for The White House Complex, The Vice President's Residence, and The Main Treasury Building and Annex
  • Protect foreign diplomatic missions and embassies in the Washington, D.C. area
  • Travel in support of Presidential, Vice Presidential, and foreign heads of state/government missions
  • Enforce mandated protective responsibilities as described under Title 18, United States Code, Section 3056A

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Current valid U.S. driver's license
  • At least 21 years old at time of application and under 40 at referral (exceptions apply)
  • Ability to carry and use a firearm and maintain proficiency
  • Possess uncorrected visual acuity of no worse than 20/100 binocular
  • Possess corrected visual acuity of 20/20 or better in each eye
  • Hearing loss not exceeding 25 decibels in either ear at 500, 1000, and 2000 Hz, and able to hear whispered voice at 15 feet without a hearing aid
  • Ability to pass a drug test prior to appointment and submit to random drug testing
  • Complete 12 weeks of intensive training at FLETC and 17 weeks of specialized training at James J. Rowley Training Center
  • Registered with Selective Service System or exempt if male applicant born after December 31, 1959
