Police Officer

About This Role

This role involves responding to complaints, investigating incidents, enforcing state and federal laws, and upholding military regulations as a Police Officer for the Department of Navy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and investigate complaints while interpreting and enforcing state and federal laws, UCMJ, DoD and Navy regulations, and installation directives.
• Respond to alarms, emergency calls, and other calls for service.
• Operate electronic tactical police communications equipment, including mobile data terminals.
• Perform traffic law enforcement using specialized equipment like radar and breathalyzer.
• Set up and conduct checkpoints/roadblocks for anti-terrorism measures and criminal activity reduction.
• Prepare detailed reports, forms, and citations.
• Ensure individuals requesting access to the installation have proper identification.

Requirements

• US Citizen
• Successfully pass E-Verify employment verification check
• No conviction of a crime of domestic violence on or after 27 November 200
• Successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination
• Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test
• Subject to random drug testing
• Ability to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance
• Successfully complete the mandated 40-hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC)
• Agreement to Continue in Service (CSA) for 36 months after FLETC training

Qualifications

• At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level (or GS-05 for GS-06 position) in law enforcement, antiterrorism, and physical security functions at military installations.
