Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

This role involves assisting pharmacists in providing patient-centric care by managing pharmacy operations, utilizing pharmacy systems, and ensuring a distinctive customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations, and Company policies and procedures
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions
• Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
