Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

This role primarily focuses on providing patient-centric pharmacy support, developing strong patient relationships, and assisting pharmacists in various duties, including prescription processing and customer service. It involves an apprenticeship program to achieve Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging with customers and resolving issues
• Perform duties including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and verifying medication accuracy
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures
• Register sales on the cash register and handle cash as required
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked and orderly

Requirements

• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
