Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in delivering patient-centric care by managing pharmacy operations, interacting with customers, and processing prescriptions. This role offers an "earn while you learn" apprenticeship program leading to PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including filling prescriptions and checking for interactions
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

• New to working in pharmacies or experienced Pharmacy Technician

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to accurately fill prescriptions
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
