Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

This role is for a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice at Walgreens. You will assist pharmacists, interact with customers, and utilize pharmacy systems as you work towards becoming a certified pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services
• Assist the Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is clean and stocked
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
