Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in providing patient-centric care, process prescriptions, manage pharmacy operations, and deliver excellent customer service. This role includes an "earn while you learn" apprenticeship program leading to PTCB certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients, and resolving issues.
• Perform duties including entering patient/drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, and checking for interactions.
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services and handle telephone calls not requiring pharmacist attention.
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities (ordering, unpacking, checking, storing pharmaceuticals).
• Assist with administering clinical services, including collection and proper labeling of blood/urine samples from patients.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining relationships with the local medical community.
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat, and orderly in condition and appearance.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; training program provided.

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
