Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

This role is a patient-centric Pharmacy Technician or Apprentice position responsible for interacting with customers, processing prescriptions, and assisting the pharmacist. It offers an 'earn while you learn' training program to become a PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers and resolving issues
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems and accurately fill prescriptions
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhere to Company Quality Improvement Program policies
• Register all related sales on cash register and handle cash as required
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked and orderly

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
