Pharmacy Technician / Pharm Tech Apprenticeship

About This Role

Assist pharmacists in a patient-centric environment, utilizing pharmacy systems to process prescriptions and support customer experience. This role includes training to achieve PTCB certification, offering a career entry point into healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Perform duties as assigned including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and procedures.
• Process telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services.
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities.
• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
