Manage daily non-clinical pharmacy operations and workflow, ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient pharmacy services. This role involves supervising, training, and developing pharmacy technician personnel while maintaining compliance with regulations.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and positive patient experience.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions.
- Supervise, train, coach, and manage the performance of pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
- Engage customers, resolve complaints, and enhance customer experience with healthcare services.
- Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery, including registration, data entry, and medication preparation where allowed by law.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy, ensuring tasks are completed on time.
- Manage core pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedule, and ensure a clean and stocked pharmacy department.
- Manage inventory and all business administrative activities not requiring pharmacist licensure.
- Analyze and improve pharmacy financials, operational quality, and customer service.
- Lead technician hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
- 1+ year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
- Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- 1+ year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
Nice to Have
- Previous people management/leadership experience
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation
Certifications
PTCB or ExCPT certification
