Manage day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations, ensuring efficient workflow and positive patient experiences, while supervising pharmacy technicians and maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day non-clinical pharmacy operations and administrative activities, ensuring efficient workflow and positive patient experience.
- Operate pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions.
- Supervise, train, coach, and manage the performance of pharmacy technicians and pharmacy cashiers.
- Select, schedule, and develop pharmacy technician personnel, including making decisions regarding discipline and termination.
- Engage customers to resolve complaints, respond to requests, and ensure a positive customer experience.
- Assist pharmacists in patient care delivery including registration, data entry, medication preparation, counting, and verifying.
- Delegate, direct, and assign non-clinical work in the pharmacy, ensuring tasks are completed on-time.
- Manage core pharmacy workflow, coordinate daily schedules, and assure pharmacy cleanliness and adequate supplies.
- Ensure compliance and execution of administrative activities and pharmacy inventory management tasks.
- Drive new technology/process roll-outs and engage teams in action planning.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico)
- 1 year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico)
- Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
- Obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in Community Specialty Pharmacy and Health System Pharmacy locations)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 1 year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting
Nice to Have
- Previous people management/leadership experience
- Previous work experience with Walgreens with an Exceeding Expectation on last performance evaluation
Certifications
PTCB or ExCPT certification
(Required)
Active immunization certification within 90 days of hire
