Pharmacy Manager

About This Role

This role provides empathetic pharmacy consulting services, including clinical healthcare services and immunizations, to patients. The manager also ensures accurate medication dispensing, efficient workflow, and manages pharmacy staff performance and development.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding medication use and drug interactions
• Offer preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations and diagnostic testing
• Ensure prescribed medications are compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified accurately
• Manage an efficient pharmacy workflow and improve pharmacy financials and inventory
• Manage pharmacy staff performance and engagement, including training and formal performance management
• Engage patients, resolve issues, and provide customer service best practices
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and over-the-counter products
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management
• Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards
• Collaborate with Store Manager to define new strategic business opportunities

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.

Nice to Have

• Supervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of pharmacy staff
• At least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreen Co.
