Pharmacy Manager

About This Role

This role provides comprehensive pharmacy consulting services, including medication management and clinical healthcare services, to patients. The manager also optimizes pharmacy workflow and finances, while leading and developing pharmacy staff to ensure excellent patient experience and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Provide empathetic pharmacy consulting services to patients regarding medication use, side effects, and interactions.
• Offer preventive and clinical healthcare services, including immunizations and diagnostic testing.
• Ensure prescribed medications are accurately compounded, reviewed, dispensed, and verified according to regulations.
• Manage an efficient pharmacy workflow, inventory, and financial performance.
• Manage pharmacy staff performance, engagement, and professional development through training and coaching.
• Resolve patient issues promptly and ensure a positive patient experience.
• Operate the pharmacy in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards, including opening, closing, and shift changes.
• Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop new strategic business opportunities.
• Maintain knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems and improve productivity.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community to promote pharmacy business.

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution
• Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institution.
• At least 1 year pharmacy experience including prescription filling, recordkeeping, legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance billing.

Nice to Have

• Supervisory experience planning, organizing, and directing the work of pharmacy staff
• At least 6 months pharmacy experience with Walgreen Co.
