Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

Provide an exceptional patient experience by assisting pharmacists and pharmacy team members, processing prescriptions using pharmacy systems, and championing best practices for future pharmacist roles.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Model and share customer service best practices with all team members
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision, in accordance with regulations
• Perform duties for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions
• Assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services
• Immediately report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Maintain knowledge of Company asset protection techniques and file claims for overages/shortages/errors
• Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly
• Complete required training and maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
