Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

Provide an exceptional patient experience by assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team with prescription processing, customer engagement, and operational tasks, while learning and upholding pharmacy policies and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist and pharmacy team members in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Perform duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions
• Assist pharmacists and other healthcare providers in delivering patient care and services within state scope of practice, including patient counseling and other health services
• Immediately report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies
• Register all related sales on assigned cash register and handle cash as required
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals

Requirements

• Enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English

• Must be enrolled in a school of Pharmacy program
