Pharmacy Intern Grad

About This Role

Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, ensuring proper medication dispensation, and assist the pharmacy manager in optimizing operations and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers and patients, offering assistance and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Counsel patients on medication usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy, referring to medical providers as needed.
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
• Ensure pharmacy operates according to regulations, company policies, and standards.
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy information technology systems (Intercom Plus, registers, automation, StoreNET).
• Process insurance claims accurately to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections.
• Follow-up with medical providers to clarify prescriptions and suggest alternative medications.
• Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services including immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
• Assist the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data including financial and customer service metrics.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community and participate in community outreach.

Requirements

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy within 90 days of hire
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws
• Certified Immunizer or willing to become one within 90 days

Qualifications

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws.
