About This Role

Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers, ensuring effective medication usage and offering preventive healthcare services. Manage the efficient workflow of the pharmacy, assist in optimizing financials and inventory, and enhance customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Consult customers on effective medication usage, drug interactions, and preventive healthcare services including immunizations
• Ensure proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines and company policies
• Support the efficient workflow of the pharmacy by coordinating activities and soliciting employee suggestions
• Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy, referring to medical providers as needed
• Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management
• Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards
• Process insurance claims accurately to resolve customer issues and prevent payment rejections
• Follow-up with medical providers' offices to clarify prescriptions, dosages, and allergies
• Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
• Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare through continuous learning and professional development

Requirements

• Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure from the respective Board of Pharmacy in the states within the district within 90 days of hire
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities that demonstrate a strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
