About This Role

This role provides pharmacy consulting services, ensuring proper medication dispensation and offering preventive healthcare. The Pharmacy Intern Grad supports efficient pharmacy workflow and assists in optimizing financials and enhancing customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pharmacy consulting services to customers regarding medication usage, interactions, and preventive healthcare services including immunizations.
  • Ensure proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues and answering questions.
  • Counsel patients on medicine usage, side effects, interactions, and privacy, referring to medical providers as needed.
  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates according to regulations, company policies, and standards, assisting with workflow procedures.
  • Accurately process insurance claims, follow up with insurance companies and medical providers, and participate in 3rd party audits.
  • Perform retail, clinical, and wellness services such as immunizations, flu shots, and diabetes awareness.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training, coaching performance, and fostering employee development.
  • Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare, pursuing professional development and obtaining necessary certifications.

Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree prior to start date
  • Willingness to obtain pharmacist licensure within 90 days of hire
  • Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with strong working knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
  • Willingness to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) degree from an accredited educational institution
