Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

Deliver distinctive customer service in a pharmacy setting, processing sales and assisting the pharmacist in dispensing medications. This role ensures efficient checkout and maintains pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience by greeting customers and offering assistance.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed at the cash register.
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, and verify medicine is correct.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program or state required certification/registration.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
