Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

The Pharmacy Customer Service Associate delivers a distinctive customer experience by assisting pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescriptions, ringing up sales, and maintaining pharmacy operations. This role focuses on ensuring efficient and friendly service to all customers.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register, processing payments, voids, returns, and exchanges
• Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Perform duties such as entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying correct medicine, and checking for interactions
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process and resubmit manual claims for third-party program prescription services
• Assist with pharmacy inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceuticals
• Maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy through training and continuing education
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, maintaining records and taking inventory

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
