Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This role delivers a distinctive customer experience in a retail pharmacy setting, handling sales, processing prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, and assisting with various operational and inventory tasks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues, and answering questions
• Provide courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service to customers
• Recommend items for sale, trade-up, and companion items to customers
• Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed
• Maintain clean and well-merchandised counters and shelves, take inventory, and maintain records
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems and filling prescriptions
• Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services and other clerical duties
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurately filling prescriptions
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
