Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This role delivers a distinctive customer experience by registering sales, assisting pharmacists in practice, and processing prescriptions in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service to customers.
• Assist pharmacists, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy and process prescriptions using pharmacy systems.
• Engage customers and patients, resolve issues, and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Keep counters and shelves clean, merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records.
• Perform duties including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies and Quality Improvement Program.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties.
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for filling prescriptions accurately
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
