Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

Provide a distinctive customer experience in the pharmacy by registering sales, assisting with prescription processing, and resolving customer issues. This role supports the pharmacist in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Recommend items for sale to customers, including trade-up and/or companion items
• Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records
• Check in and price merchandise as required or directed by store management
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring pharmaceutical drugs, verifying medicine is correct, and checking for possible interactions
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow
• Report prescription errors to pharmacist on duty immediately and adhere to Company policies and procedures
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise
• Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills to accurately fill prescriptions, including counting, measuring and weighing medications
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
