Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

Provide direct customer service in a pharmacy setting, processing sales and assisting pharmacists with prescription fulfillment while ensuring regulatory compliance and maintaining store operations.

Responsibilities

• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service to customers
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy, using pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues
• Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed
• Keep counters and shelves clean, well-merchandised, and manage inventory records
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, fill prescriptions, and verify accuracy
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services
• Assist and support the Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Maintain displays, complete resets, and assist with stock rotation
• Provide customer service in the photo area and assume web pick-up responsibilities
• Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy through continuous learning

Requirements

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
