Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This role delivers distinctive customer service, processes sales transactions, and assists pharmacists with prescription processing and inventory management while adhering to regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service
• Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Recommend items for sale to customer, including trade-up and/or companion items
• Process voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges as needed
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Manager, including filling prescriptions
• Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to Company policies
• Handles telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
