Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

Deliver excellent customer service by assisting patients with pharmacy needs, ringing sales, and performing operational tasks under the direct supervision of a pharmacist.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience
• Register sales on assigned cash register and provide efficient checkout service
• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services
• Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience
• Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs
• Handle telephone calls that do not require personal attention of the pharmacist
• Process manual claims for third party program prescription services
• Assist and support Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products
• Construct and maintain displays, complete resets and revisions
• Assist with separation of food items and product placement
• Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service
• Assume web pick-up responsibilities
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure clean store condition
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate
• Acquire continuing education credits and maintain knowledge in healthcare and pharmacy

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
• PTCB certification
