Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

About This Role

This role is responsible for providing a distinctive customer experience in the pharmacy, processing sales, and assisting the pharmacist with prescription fulfillment and patient information under direct supervision, while adhering to all regulations and company policies.

Responsibilities

• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Register sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous and efficient checkout service.
• Process prescriptions using pharmacy systems to obtain patient/drug information and fill prescriptions.
• Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, resolving issues, and answering questions.
• Recommend items for sale and process voids, returns, and refunds as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and merchandising of counters and shelves, take inventory, and check in/price merchandise.
• Assist pharmacists with scheduling, workflow, and inventory management activities.
• Report prescription errors to the pharmacist and comply with company policies related to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist.
• Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services.
• Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Assist with interior and exterior maintenance to ensure a clean, neat, and orderly store condition.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated PTCB training program and/or state required certification/registration.
• Attend training and complete PPLs requested by Manager or assigned by corporate and acquire continuing education credits.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (Except in Puerto Rico)
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours

Nice to Have

• Six months of experience in a retail environment
• Prior work experience with Walgreens
• Good math skills for accurate prescription filling
• Good computer skills
• Knowledge of store inventory control
