About This Role

Oversee the daily operations of a specialty pharmacy department, managing workflow, ensuring clinical patient care, and maintaining compliance with regulations and company policies. This role focuses on accurate prescription fulfillment and providing high levels of customer service to patients, providers, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department
• Manage workflow and ensure clinical management of patients
• Implement continuous quality improvement and adhere to policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with internal and external regulatory bodies
• Manage pharmacy sales, control expenses, and handle inventory
• Accurately fill prescriptions and ensure the highest level of customer service
• Develop and protect department assets
• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints, improving the pharmacy's image
• Report prescription errors immediately and follow quality improvement programs
• Comply with all federal and state laws and regulations governing drugs and products
• Maintain required records, documentation, and reports
• Manage and control prescription department inventory following company buying procedures
• Supervise pharmacy department staff, ensuring performance and adherence to company policies
• Confirm proper licensure and training of all pharmacy department personnel

Requirements

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institute
• Current pharmacist license in the states within the district (or willing to obtain in 1 year)
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance
• Experience performing prescription dispensing activities demonstrating strong knowledge of applicable state and federal controlled substance laws
• Completed specialized training regarding medication and disease state or sufficient practical experience for specialized services (HIV, Organ Transplant, Oncology, etc.)

Qualifications

• BS in Pharmacy or Pharm D Degree from an accredited educational institute
• At least 1 year of pharmacy experience including prescription filling and verification, records and legal compliance, pharmacy operations, pharmacy software and technology systems and insurance
