Pay Station Clerk

About This Role

This role provides prompt and friendly service to customers at a pay station, operating a cash register, replenishing supplies, and assisting with cleaning, ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Smile and greet customers in a friendly manner
• Learn customers’ names and address them by name whenever possible
• Assist customers by noting suggestions and enhancing the shopping experience
• Answer the telephone promptly and provide friendly service
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Operate cash register accurately and scan products
• Redeem promotional coupons, receive cash, checks, and process credit-card transactions
• Count back change and issue receipts
• Place merchandise in bags or boxes and give packages to customers
• Ensure adequate supply of silverware, condiments, and beverage cups are on hand
• Refill and maintain coffee service area supplies
• Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Adhere to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress
• Report to work when scheduled and on time

Requirements

• Must be 18+
• Ability to make change
• Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
