Bakery Cake Designer

About This Role

As a Bakery Cake Designer, you will be responsible for decorating bakery items and assisting customers with their orders, ensuring a positive company image through courteous, friendly, and efficient service.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service
• Decorate bakery items in a timely manner, staying current on new designs and trends
• Take customer orders at the Bakery counter and via telephone
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction
• Check cake orders for details, indicate supply needs, and order decorating supplies
• Deliver product and set up wedding cakes on site outside the store
• Communicate with the bakery manager regarding displays, weekly ads, and special needs
• Develop bakery orders for bakers, such as specific cakes and sizes
• Track daily retail production and identify tasks to be completed with co-workers
• Operate as a lead worker, instructing and reviewing the work of part-time or other employees

Requirements

• Must be 18+ years old
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience
• Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
• Ability to file, post, mail materials, copy data, interview for basic information, and provide basic direction
