Patient Care Tech

About This Role

This role involves performing patient care activities and assisting licensed nursing personnel under direct supervision in a hospital setting. The incumbent will be responsible for assigned areas during their shift, supporting the overall patient care operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned patient care activities
• Assist licensed nursing personnel
• Be responsible for assigned areas on 1 shift
• Be subject to overtime and call-back as required by facility

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Skills and proficiency in oral and written grammar, communication, and basic mathematics
• Completion of an approved Vo-Tech program and certified as a Nurse Aide, OR completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN/LPN program with a nursing skills checklist completed
• Currently enrolled in an approved program to utilize the RN/LPN Nursing Student Skills Checklist (if applicable)

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus completion of an approved Vo-Tech program and certified as a Nurse Aide, or completion of a minimum of one semester of an RN/LPN program.
• Knowledge of patient care technician practices and related patient care activities acquired through on-the-job training. A year of PCT experience within the acute care setting will be considered in lieu of formal training.

Certifications
