About This Role

This role involves providing exceptional service to patients by managing check-in and checkout processes, scheduling appointments, and handling insurance verification and billing. You will be responsible for maintaining patient records and ensuring smooth administrative operations within the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge and greet patients, customers, and vendors in a friendly manner
  • Answer and respond to telephone inquiries professionally
  • Schedule appointments
  • Gather patient and insurance information
  • Verify and enter patient demographics into EMR, ensuring all fields are complete
  • Verify vision and medical insurance information and enter into EMR
  • Maintain a clear understanding of insurance plans and communicate information to patients
  • Pull schedules to ensure insurance eligibility prior to patient appointments and ensure files are complete
  • Prepare insurance claims and run reports to ensure all charges are billed and filed
  • Print and prepare forms for patient visits
  • Collect and document all charges, co-pays, and payments into EMR
  • Allocate balances to insurance as needed
  • Maintain a clean workspace

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to maintain patient and practice confidentiality
