About This Role

Conduct eye exams, diagnose sight problems, and prescribe corrective measures for patients within the Acuity Eyecare group. The role focuses on establishing patient relationships and educating them on eye care to support practice growth.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eye exams for Acuity Eyecare group
• Practice to the full capacity of your license
• Support practice growth by establishing patient relationships
• Educate patients on eyecare
• Perform verbal interview with patient prior to examination to determine health and ocular history, medical issues, reasons for their visit, and visual wants/needs
• Instruct, recommend, and advise patients as to their options for remediation of ametropias, systemic and ocular disease, and visual wants/needs
• Generate patient loyalty and promote the profession of Optometry and Acuity Eyecare Group values
• Perform vision tests and analyze results
• Diagnose sight problems, such as nearsightedness or farsightedness and eye diseases
• Prescribe eyeglasses, contact lenses, and medications
• Recommend or provide treatments such as vision therapy or low-vision rehabilitation
• Provide pre- and postoperative care to patients undergoing eye surgery
• Evaluate patients for the presence of diseases such as diabetes and refer to other healthcare providers
• Promote eye health by counseling patients, including explaining contact lens care and examination frequency
• Communicate appropriate recommendations for lenses and designs to opticians and sales personnel

Requirements

• Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution
• Passed all optometric state boards
