This role is responsible for driving sales and revenue generation for Quikrete Heavy Construction Materials in the Columbus, GA market. The Outside Sales Representative will manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation and client relationship management to achieving budgeted financial targets.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to safety policies and procedures in all work environments
- Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and project contact numbers
- Follow up on new leads and referrals; identify and contact sales prospects
- Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts, maintaining current product knowledge
- Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships
- Prepare new account and credit paperwork to activate and maintain contract services
- Track planned and negotiated projects; review specifications, quotes, and bid projects
- Quote prices and credit terms; prepare proposals and contracts for orders obtained
- Collect past due customer accounts and help resolve customer-related issues
- Keep information on market share, selling price, job closings, and customer segmentation
- Identify, work with, and track projects in early development stages
- Communicate new product and service opportunities and feedback to appropriate company staff
- Promote special product sales by identifying customer issues addressable with Value Added Products (VASPs)
- Communicate with customers about concrete irregularities and resolve client concerns/issues
- Process customer project contracts to ensure proper pricing and avoid chargebacks
- Obtain information for the credit department and resolve credit/accounts receivable issues
- Provide accurate forecast and backlog reports across the customer portfolio
- Prepare status reports including activity, closings, follow-up, and adherence to goals
- Utilize computers for email, quoting, spreadsheets, and contracts
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in related field (construction materials, Business, etc)
- Technical knowledge and certifications
- Sales experience in construction
- Exposure to Project Management, Sales and Estimating
- MS Office
