Nursing Assistant Medical Observation

About This Role

This role involves providing direct patient care, transporting patients, and performing clerical duties within a 54-bed Medical Observation Unit with rapid patient turnover. The Nursing Assistant works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to ensure patient safety and efficient unit operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Safely transport patients via wheelchair or stretcher
• Dispatch services and provide appropriate documentation of services
• Perform the services of an Observer for patients requiring constant observation (in person or via remote video monitoring)
• Perform general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit
• Document care provided in the electronic medical record

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Previous hospital or nursing home experience
• Current CNA certification
