This Pharmacy Technician role involves processing, preparing, and delivering medications and supplies under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. The technician will work with various medication automation systems and handle complex pharmacy tasks including sterile compounding and controlled substance management.
Responsibilities
- Process, prepare, and deliver medications and supplies under direct Pharmacist supervision
- Works with multiple medication automation systems
- Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas
- Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Delivers pharmacy prepared medications and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas
- Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members
- Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications and completes assigned competencies by due dates
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Michigan Pharmacist Intern, Temporary Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician License
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 1 year of hire (unless Pharmacist Intern)
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Entry level with retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
Nice to Have
- Retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- IV, Compounding, Chemo, or Inpatient Pharmacy experience
