Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This Pharmacy Technician role involves processing, preparing, and delivering medications and supplies under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist. The technician will work with various medication automation systems and handle complex pharmacy tasks including sterile compounding and controlled substance management.

Responsibilities

• Process, prepare, and deliver medications and supplies under direct Pharmacist supervision
• Works with multiple medication automation systems
• Handles controlled substances for pharmacy and patient care areas
• Prepares and packages bulk medications into unit of use packaging
• Maintains a clean and organized work area
• Delivers pharmacy prepared medications and supplies to various nursing stations/patient care areas
• Triages phone calls and messages from multidisciplinary team members
• Maintains all requirements for CPhT certifications and completes assigned competencies by due dates

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Michigan Pharmacist Intern, Temporary Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Technician License
• Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) within 1 year of hire (unless Pharmacist Intern)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Entry level with retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred

Nice to Have

• Retail or hospital pharmacy experience
• IV, Compounding, Chemo, or Inpatient Pharmacy experience
