Pharmacy Technician

About This Role

This Pharmacy Technician role supports the pharmacy team in a CVS Health retail location, focusing on operational and service excellence. Responsibilities include assisting patients, ensuring accurate prescription fulfillment, and adhering to standard operating procedures to enhance patient health.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health
• Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, and creating heartfelt and personalized moments
• Offer immunizations and other services at the register and over the phone to keep patients healthy
• Complete basic inventory activities, as permitted by law, and as directed by the pharmacy leadership team
• Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset, and being receptive to feedback
• Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic
• Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles
• Support immunizations, including completing additional licensure and training requirements and educating patients about vaccines (where permissible)

Requirements

• Comply with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, including age, education, and licensure/certification
• If state board of pharmacy does not mandate minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age
• If state board of pharmacy does not mandate minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or actively enrolled in high school or high school equivalency program
• Entry level with 0-3 years experience preferred as Pharmacy Technician or in retail/medical/customer service settings

Nice to Have

• 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
• Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
• Ability to work in the home store, and across the market in other locations
