About This Role

Perform heavy-duty mechanical truck repair and maintenance offsite at customer locations for North America’s largest Kenworth truck dealership group. This role involves developing customer relationships to achieve labor sales goals and advising on service work.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine mechanical repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty truck equipment and related components with general supervision
  • Coordinate customer repair orders with Service Manager and Shop Foremen for task assignment
  • Coordinate with Service Advisor for proper work scheduling of all mobile maintenance business
  • Advise customer of needed service work and suggest additional labor, parts, and body shop sales
  • Follow safe work practices and procedures, use safety equipment, and report any damage to equipment or property
  • Maintain favorable relations with customers
  • Create and close repair orders in the MHC business system to document work performed and time spent
  • Control business expenses within the approved budget and manage tooling and parts inventory on the service truck
  • Oversee operations of assigned customers in the territory and call upon key accounts regularly
  • Achieve labor sales objectives and quota for assigned accounts

Requirements

  • Minimum three years’ heavy duty truck repair experience
  • A/C, Brake and DOT Annual Inspector certifications
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with little supervision
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction and quality repairs
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum three years’ heavy duty truck repair experience.

Nice to Have

  • Engine certification
  • Component certification
  • Class A or B CDL and/or DOT medical card (depending on vehicle size)
