About This Role

Provide hands-on care, physical and emotional support to senior residents, maintaining a safe and comfortable home-like environment. Administer medications and treatments according to established procedures, ensuring meticulous documentation and resident well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated group of residents, monitoring their location and checking on them throughout the shift
  • Observe, report, and document changes in residents' conditions such as skin, behavior, alertness, weight, and dietary intake
  • Promptly respond to security system alerts and resident call bells
  • Notify supervisors or Health Care Coordinators of increased resident care needs
  • Assist with continence management and dispose of products properly to maintain sanitation
  • Serve and collect food trays, assisting as needed and reporting refusal of meals or loss of appetite
  • Maintain cleanliness of residents' rooms and work areas, practicing standard care precautions
  • Actively participate in and assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating)
  • Engage residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities
  • Greet and assist all internal and external customers, guests, family members, residents, vendors, and team members
  • Review service plans and assist/observe medication and treatment administration using medication observation records and the Six Rights of Medication Pass
  • Document medication administration, including refusal or missed doses, and report resident concerns to the Nurse/HCC
  • Restock medication carts, assist in checking medication, count narcotics, and maintain cleanliness of the Medication Room and charts
  • Take and record vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse, respiration rates)

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age

Qualifications

  • High School diploma/GED

Nice to Have

  • Certified Nurse’s Aid certification
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Previous experience working with seniors
