Medication Aide

About This Role

As a Medication Aide, you will provide compassionate care to senior residents in a retirement and assisted living community, focusing on their daily well-being, medication assistance, and involvement in social activities. This role is integral to enabling residents to maintain independence.

Responsibilities

• Complete nursing treatments and monitor residents' vital signs
• Maintain medication/treatment records, complying with regulatory, OSHA, and incident reporting guidelines
• Communicate with physicians, pharmacies, and families to ensure prompt medication receipt
• Store medications and equipment, ensuring the medication room is clean and orderly
• Follow resident service plans, including assistance, bathing, grooming, administering medication, and other activities of daily living (ADLs), noting changes in resident condition
• Demonstrate knowledge of and follow infection control procedures
• Support the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and home-like environment for residents

Requirements

• Ability to complete nursing treatments and monitor vital signs
• Ability to maintain medication/treatment records
• Ability to communicate effectively with medical professionals and families
• Ability to store medications and maintain a clean medication room
• Ability to follow resident service plans and assist with ADLs
• Knowledge of infection control procedures
• Ability to compose reports in English

• Six months of experience in senior caregiving or med pass
