Medical Waste/Sharps Plant Operator

About This Role

Operate a medical waste treatment facility by checking in containers, managing paperwork, moving various waste containers, and operating a forklift and autoclave. This role offers variety and requires a practical problem-solving mindset.

Responsibilities

• Weighing incoming sharps and regulated medical waste containers using a Weighbridge
• Loading and operating the autoclave machine to melt materials
• Loading the Washsmart system for container washing and sanitization
• Driving a forklift and operating hand trucks once trained
• Lifting 55lbs and pushing a four-wheeled cart weighing up to 200lbs
• Providing attention to detail for paperwork required to process items
• Standing for extended periods of time comfortably
• Working effectively within a team environment

Requirements

• Can-do attitude
• Commitment to efficient, timely scheduling
• Previous experience in a labor-intensive job (repetitive lifting of 50lbs to 75lb containers)
• Proven longevity with previous employers
