About This Role

The Certified Medical Assistant delivers excellent patient care by working closely with primary care physicians, ensuring services are provided within Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. This role involves reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms for examinations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community respectfully
  • Prepare and review patient charts for upcoming visits, verifying diagnostic test results, hospital reports, and medical records are correct and up to date
  • Measure vital signs such as pulse rate, respiration, blood pressure, weight, and height
  • Perform departmental-related clerical duties including checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly

Requirements

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the listed bodies (required within 12 months of start date)
  • BLS Basic Life Support certification (at hire or prior to independent patient care depending on location)

Qualifications

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Preferred: One year of medical assistant healthcare experience, or two years of clerical experience in a physician's office
