About This Role

Provide high-quality and efficient patient care as a Medical Assistant by managing appointments, performing administrative duties, and assisting physicians and nursing staff in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and cancel patient appointments
  • Check-in and check-out patients
  • Enter charges and payments
  • Answer the telephone
  • Verify patient insurance and demographics
  • Collect co-payments/coinsurance and personal balances
  • Perform selected administrative duties and assist nursing staff
  • Collect patient specimens
  • Take patient histories and vital signs
  • Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments
  • Give injections and apply casts, splints, and dressings, as applicable
  • Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization
  • Assist physician in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals
  • Coordinate continuity of patient care with external healthcare organizations and facilities

Requirements

  • One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting

Qualifications

  • One year of Medical Assisting or other direct clinical patient care experience in a healthcare setting
