Surgery Scheduler

About This Role

As a Surgery Scheduler, you will ensure efficient scheduling of patient surgical procedures and maintain the surgery schedule for Methodist ASC of Boerne, contributing to the company's mission, vision, and values.

Responsibilities

• Obtain CPT and ICD-10 diagnosis codes and other clinical information from physician's offices
• Prepare documentation for Notification of Non-covered Medicare Services or Advance Beneficiary notices for patients
• Notify physician's offices about non-covered procedures
• Complete chart requests from Medical Records
• Notify the Materials Manager / Nurse Manager of any physician requests or special equipment needed for upcoming surgeries/procedures
• Determine the duration needed for surgeries in the operating room
• Work with OR nurse to ensure a daily schedule is streamlined
• Maintain the center block schedule list and arrange necessary anesthesia coverage
• Call/fax physician’s offices to notify them of any open schedule times for additional cases

Requirements

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a medical office setting, with 1 year of Medical Scheduling highly preferred

Nice to Have

• 1 year of Medical Scheduling experience
