This role is responsible for repairing and maintaining all production facility assets, promptly addressing equipment breakdowns, and performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to ensure operational efficiency. The position involves training junior personnel and making design improvements to enhance production.
Responsibilities
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs
- Monitor and maintain multiple pieces of equipment by correctly completing assigned PMs and corrective maintenance work orders
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and assisting production
- Program changes and modifications to electronic, electrical equipment to improve overall production
- Train plant personnel on equipment and procedures
Requirements
- Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
- 5 to 7 years of work experience
- Technical degree or equivalent experience
- Read and follow SOPs or instructions
- Computer skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Competency in monitoring and adjusting equipment speeds, temperatures, and liquid levels
- Identify and troubleshoot complex process issues
- Make mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic adjustments
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controls (PLCs)
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or up to 3 years of college or technical school
- 5 to up to 7 years of work experience
Nice to Have
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical prints, and machine schematics
