Meat Wrapper

About This Role

Prepare and display fresh meat items for sale, ensuring proper quality, rotation, and cleanliness. Provide excellent customer service and maintain organized work areas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and display merchandise in a neat, efficient, orderly manner
• Check product quality, ensuring freshness, safety, and proper rotation
• Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well organized
• Maintain carts, tools, and supplies in designated, organized areas
• Work display cases to ensure proper inventory levels and freshness
• Unload trucks, sort, and prepare merchandise for sale
• Provide good customer and associate relations, greeting customers and assisting them in finding products
• Wash and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and Health Department policies
• Follow all current rules and duties of the Meat, Company, State, and Federal laws
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition

Requirements

• Willing and available to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, and product labels
• Qualified and able to operate power and various job tools (automatic wrapper, slicer, grinder, power saw, and jack)
• Must work safely with various chemically based cleaning solutions
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations

Nice to Have

• Meat work experience or similar experience in food preparation
• Past work record reflects dependability and integrity
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to employment practices, OSHA compliance, food handling
