Front End/Receiving Lead Clerk

About This Role

This role is responsible for efficiently receiving and verifying grocery vendor deliveries, ensuring accuracy and contributing to the store's financial interests. The position also involves demonstrating company values and assisting customers in a friendly manner.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify grocery vendor deliveries efficiently and accurately
• Perform other functions in Produce, Point-of-Sale and Receiving
• Provide friendly and efficient customer service
• Greet customers and assist them with products, price checks, and heavy items
• Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, box cutters, and forklifts according to company guidelines
• Assume responsibility for receiving area security and operating hours, controlling vendor traffic
• Monitor and report abnormal vendor actions and unauthorized personnel in Receiving
• Log irregularities, discrepancies, shortages, and damaged shipments, processing credits and documenting resolutions
• Deliver product to applicable storage/work load areas, handling products to reduce waste
• Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards, keeping all areas clean and swept/mopped
• Check and maintain equipment for proper performance, advising the store director of problems
• Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation, and safety regulations, guidelines, procedures, and programs
