Litigation Paralegal

About This Role

This Litigation Paralegal role involves supporting attorneys in a fast-paced plaintiff's law firm, specializing in property insurance and litigation. The position requires organizing and analyzing case documents, conducting research, and drafting pleadings to facilitate effective legal representation.

Responsibilities

• Organize and summarize records, documents, correspondence, and files into a manageable format
• Analyze and review case documents to assist in deposition, hearing, and trial preparation
• Conduct investigations and research into facts and material issues in the cases
• Work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, third parties, and opposing counsel to obtain pertinent information
• Assist attorneys in drafting pleadings with corresponding exhibits, correspondence, subpoenas, disclosures, and motions
• Coordinate attorney depositions, hearings, and related activities with other office personnel
• Respond to Discovery Requests, including requests for production, admissions, and interrogatories
• Prepare discovery requests and monitor/obtain responses from opposing counsel
• Process pleadings, motions, and correspondence (e-service and physical) using the Florida e-filing portal
• Prepare materials in support of hearings and depositions

Requirements

• 3-10 years experience in property insurance, insurance defense, plaintiff, and/or bad faith property litigation
• Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate
• Working knowledge/experience with: Word, Gmail, Westlaw, Adobe
• Strong computer proficiency
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Time management & planning skills
• Ability to manage documents
• Solid attention to detail
• Strong self-motivation
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments for multiple attorneys
• Solid character and judgment
• High degree of professionalism
• Ability to keep confidential case and client matters
• Dependable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
• 3 to 10 years of experience in property insurance, insurance defense, plaintiff, and/or bad faith property litigation

Nice to Have

• Federal Court experience
• Familiarity with Kofax (f/k/a Nuance) and Clio
