Lead Sous Chef

About This Role

The Lead Sous Chef supports the Dining Services Director in leading the culinary team to provide high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for residents. This role involves monitoring kitchen activities, expediting orders, and directing kitchen staff to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the Dining Services Director in leading the culinary team
• Provide supportive leadership to kitchen staff throughout food service
• Assist in monitoring kitchen activities
• Expedite orders to ensure quality taste and presentation
• Take on additional responsibilities in the Head Chef’s absence
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in a safe, sanitary manner
• Ensure the kitchen and dining areas meet all HACCP, local health department, and state regulatory requirements
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
• Practice safe usage of all department equipment and perform cleaning/sanitization

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of culinary or dining management experience
• Current ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Ability to read and write English
• Active and valid driver's license
• Available to work varied shifts and weekends
• Food safety compliant

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of culinary or dining management experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality.

Nice to Have

• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or high-end hospitality
• Strong organizational skills
• Proficiency in basic computer applications (Word, Excel, ordering systems)
• Passion for serving the senior population
